In Japanese, the word for horse (U-ma) written bakwards (Ma-U) means to dance. This has influenced the idea of a left facing horse to bring good fortune. In this 2026 year of the horse, I painted this wishing that this becomes the year we all dance with the goodness in our lives.

Dream
In dreams, anything is possible. They are vivid and beautiful, unconstrained by the limits of reality. Yet when we wake, the challenges of the real world can make those dreams feel distant or difficult to achieve. Dream reminds me not to abandon what I imagine simply because reality does not unfold as I hoped. Instead, I can move with it—adapting, changing, and continuing to work over time, toward the things that hold meaning and value.
Dream is a part of the Sacred Flame Series made using fire.

In this painting, I played a little with texture, first making a base with modeling paste and then painting acrylics over it. The tigers eyes are deliberately painted larger than life and more like a house cat. I wanted to feature the eyes and draw you into it's gaze.
